Tanglewood Inn Policies
General Policies
Before making a reservation at Tanglewood Inn, be sure to look over the following policies. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in time is between 3:00 - 6:00 PM.
Early check-in may be permitted with approval. We may be unable to accommodate an early check-in due to the limited window we have to prepare the room and run any necessary errands. Please do not arrive before 3:00 PM without approval, as we cannot guarantee your room will be ready. If you are unable to arrive before 6:00 PM, please let us know, so we can ensure a staff member is on site to check you in!
Contactless check-in will only be permitted for established guests. If this applies to you, and you would prefer contactless check-in, please make note of this when making your reservation.
Check-out time is by 11:00 AM. We ask you to respect this time in order to allow for the room to be prepared for guests arriving later in the day. If you wish to have your luggage stored until you are ready to leave Greenville, please let us know; we will gladly do so free of charge. Late check-out will only be available in the event that the room has not been reserved by guests arriving the same day and must be coordinated in advance.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are between 9:00 PM - 8:00 AM.
Room Occupancy
Our rates are based on a double occupancy per night. While some rooms are limited to two people, others can accommodate additional guests. The charge for each additional guest in the room is $30 per night.
Pets
Due to allergies, we cannot accommodate any animals.
Smoking
No smoking is allowed inside the home. Violation of this policy will incur a $300 cleaning fee, and further damage to the property will result in additional charges, as outlined in the guest welcome book. Furthermore, candles and incense are prohibited.
Smoking is permitted in the designated area outside.
Cleaning
For all stays, the room will be cleaned upon your departure. Should you need them, extra towels, sheets, and personal amenities are available upon request!
Parking
Parking on the property is limited, thus, each room is allotted one parking space. If additional parking accommodations are needed, please let us know in advance.
Meals
Breakfast is not currently served at our inn. Breakfast rates coming Summer of 2025.
Products may change without knowledge and the menu items are prepared in close proximity to other ingredients that may result in contact with ingredients not listed. We require all guests to share (before their stay) any food allergies they are aware of as it is their personal responsibility. Tanglewood Inn and staff are not responsible for any allergic reactions that could occur. Guests with food allergies or specific dietary concerns should speak with staff for individual assistance.
Reservation Policies
Reservation Requirements
An open bar necessitates that all guests must be 21 years of age or older. At check-in, valid government issued photo identification of guests will be required for copying.
On weekends, the minimum stay is two nights.
The maximum stay is 14 nights.
Deposits and Payments
For each room reserved, a deposit for the cost of one night's stay or 50% of total lodging costs, whichever is greater, will be required at the time of reservation. We accept payments via Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover cards. The remaining balance is due on the day of check-in and will be charged to the card on file unless other payment arrangements have been made.
Exceptions: If you plan to book three or more rooms, please contact us for information regarding rates and the deposit/cancellation applicable to your reservation.

Cancellations
Please communicate any changes in your reservation as soon as possible. Due to our small size, cancellations and no-shows impact us significantly. For this reason, any cancellations will result in at least a $50 cancellation fee per room:
Cancellations made at least 14 days prior to the start of a reservation will receive a refund of the deposit minus the $50 cancellation fee per room.
Cancellations made within 14 days prior to the start of a reservation will forfeit the deposit unless the booking is rescheduled. If the booking is rescheduled, a refund minus the $50 cancellation fee will be received.
No shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the start of a reservation will be charged the full amount of the stay.
Charges for Missing Items or Damages
In the event of damage to the home or its contents, we reserve the right to charge you for the cost of repair or replacement. In the welcome book provided, charges for missing and damaged items are listed. If we notice anything missing or damaged, we will contact you to notify you of the replacement costs and make arrangements with you for payment.

Safety & Accessibility
Safety and Security
Tanglewood Inn is our personal home, and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. The comfort and safety of our guests and staff are top priorities. Therefore, any behavior threatening the well-being of another guest or staff will not be tolerated. We are not responsible for accidents or injury, damages to personal property or vehicles, or for the loss of money or valuables of any kind.
To ensure your safety and that of other guests:
Close and lock any exterior doors when exiting and entering
Close and lock any windows you have opened
Do not answer the door unless you know who it is
Only guests listed on reservations are allowed to enter our inn
Key interior and exterior areas of the property are monitored by security cameras, which are operational and record events 24/7. No cameras are located in guest rooms.
Except in the event of an emergency, we will not enter your room during your stay without your permission.
Security of Vehicles
Guest parking is located well within the premises. Parking spaces are monitored by cameras. However, parking is neither gated nor sheltered; we cannot guarantee the security of your vehicle's contents or protection from inclement weather.
Accessibility
Tanglewood Inn was first built in 1908. There is one guest room on the first floor and three on the second. These rooms are only accessible by a flight of stairs with 18 and 17 steps, respectively. The guest entrance to the inn also has 4 stairs, and is not wheelchair accessible.
As a property with, "not more than five rooms for rent or hire and that is actually occupied by the proprietor of the establishment as the residence of the proprietor," Tanglewood Inn is not considered a "public accommodation" under the Americans with Disabilities Act (5 U.S.C. 301; 28 U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 12186(b). § 36.104 Definitions).
